Azerbaijan participates in 22nd Caucasus Dance and Music Festival in Turkish city of Yalova
The 22nd Caucasus Dance and Music Festival has commenced in the Turkish city of Yalova.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event, organized under the slogan “For Peace in the Caucasus and the Whole World,” by the “Suvar” Lezgi Folk Song and Dance Ensemble.
The festival also brings together more than 350 performers from Adygea, Dagestan, Georgia, Kabardino-Balkaria, and North Ossetia.
The festival aims to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the peoples of the Caucasus, strengthen friendly relations among peoples, and contribute to the development of intercultural dialogue.
On August 19, the Suvar Lezgi Folk Song and Dance Ensemble presented a vibrant program of music and dance at the opening ceremony, featuring the dance “Odlar yurdu” and the song “Shirindil,” performed by singer Elvina Heydarova.
The ensemble’s festival repertoire included dances such as “Shadvilin Suvar,” “Ghorus,” “Chemenlik,” “Naz elama,” “Irs,” and “Lezginka,” as well as the songs “Kanidi” (“My Beloved”), “Sari Galin,” and “Azerbaijan,” performed by Javahir Abdulova, and “Perizada,” “Gara daniz,” and “İyerval” (“Beauty”), performed by Elvina Heydarova.
On August 20, the Azerbaijani delegation will perform a concert program for audiences in Balıkesir, Türkiye, followed by a wide-ranging performance at the gala concert on August 21.
