Azerbaijan expands business tourism cooperation with China
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board is participating in the "China International MICE Exchange" (“CIMX 2026”) exhibition held in Beijing from November 3 to 5. At the exhibition, the country is represented alongside Azerbaijan Airlines, Absheron Hotel Group, and local tourism companies.
The main purpose of participating in the exhibition is to expand relations with representatives of the business tourism industry, explore new cooperation opportunities in this field, and promote the country as a premier tourism destination for international business events.
The national stand was also visited by Bunyad Huseynov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the People's Republic of China.
As part of the measures to promote Azerbaijan's tourism potential in China, a B2B meeting between representatives of the Chinese and Azerbaijani business tourism industries was organized on November 2 by the Azerbaijan Tourism Board's official representative office in Beijing.
During the meeting, participants were informed about Azerbaijan's business tourism infrastructure and event venues, and discussions were held regarding the development of tourism products tailored to the demands of the Chinese market as well as prospects for cooperation.
Notably, in the January–September period of 2026, the number of visitors from China to Azerbaijan increased by 4.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 52,115 people. In September of the current year, the number of visitors from China to Azerbaijan reached 11,049, registering a 28 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
