Chinese Communist Party delegation visits Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis

On July 21, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with a delegation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), led by Kang Shuai, Deputy Director General of Information Research Center of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The meeting praised the steady development of the Azerbaijan-China relations, while also exploring enhancing bilateral interparlimentary and inter-party ties, as well as cooperation in economic trade, educational, cultural, humanitarian, and youth sectors.

Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that the friendly relations established between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping stand behind the existing dynamic development of bilateral relations across all areas.

She noted that Azerbaijan have always supported the “One China” policy and China’s territorial integrity, adding that Azerbaijan also highly appreciates China’s support for the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Speaker Gafarova further described the interparliamentary ties as an integral part of bilateral relations, highlighting the successful development of inter-party relations, along with the existing high-level bilateral political dialogue, grounded in mutual trust. She added that the fruitful cooperation established between the CCP and the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), as well as the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the ruling parties of both countries, would contribute significantly to boosting these ties.

Kang Shuai underlined that the Azerbaijan-China relations have been steadily developing over the recent years, stressing the crucial role of high-level relations established between both countries’ leaders in fostering bilateral collaboration.

During the meeting, Tahir Budagov, YAP Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Office; and Lu Mei, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, provided their insights regarding the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The meeting also addressed other issues of shared interest.
