Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan ink Memorandum of Understanding on agricultural cooperation
As part of his visit to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, met with the country's Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov.
The meeting, attended by delegations from both countries, discussed the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the agricultural sector.
Describing Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as friendly countries, Minister Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov expressed his keenness to enhance partnership between the two countries across all areas.
Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov noted that Uzbekistan has built its own insurance model based on the Azerbaijani insurance model, adding that Azerbaijan is ready to share its achievements and experience in the agricultural sector with Uzbekistan.
The Agricultural Research Center (ATM) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on the sidelines of the meeting.
The document was inked by ATM Director Rashad Huseynov and AKIS Deputy Director Oybek Amanov. Under the memorandum, which outlines the priority areas of future cooperation in the agricultural sector, the parties agreed to enhance collaboration in the fields of agricultural research and education.
