Baku hosts 5th Meeting of Secretaries of Security Councils of OTS
Chaired by Colonel General Ramil Usubov, Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Security Council, the 5th Meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on September 17.
First, Ramil Usubov delivered Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s address to the participants.
Welcoming the delegations, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the growing international role and potential of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as the achievements made during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship. He stressed that the historic Victory had created a new geopolitical reality in the region and paved the way for the Zangezur Corridor, which will strengthen economic, logistical, and strategic ties among the countries.
The event was attended by representatives of Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and the OTS Secretariat. Ramil Usubov delivered a report on the issues under discussion.
He noted that annual meetings provide an effective platform for addressing contemporary challenges, developing joint responses to common threats, strengthening security cooperation, and advancing shared interests amid global conflicts, wars, and the weakening of international law.
The heads of delegation discussed regional security issues amid developments in the Middle East, opportunities for national development in artificial intelligence, and other topical issues. They also exchanged views on implementing security-related tasks arising from agreements reached by the OTS heads of state and the provisions of the Gabala Declaration signed on October 7, 2025.
