Center for Earth Sciences and Environmental Research to be established at BSU

The Center for Earth Sciences and Environmental Research is being established at Baku State University (BSU). The corresponding decision was approved during a meeting of the BSU Scientific Council.
The new Center aims to coordinate and expand research and development activities in the fields of Earth sciences, environmental protection, climate change, sustainable development, and efficient management of natural resources.
The establishment of the Center will facilitate the integration of research conducted in geology, geography, ecology, geophysics, and related scientific fields. It will foster interdisciplinary scientific collaboration, implement modern research methodologies, and enhance the practical relevance of scientific outcomes. The Center will provide a platform for comprehensive studies in climate change impact assessment, water and soil resource management, biodiversity conservation, environmental risk identification, and the scientific analysis of ecological challenges. Furthermore, it will focus on expanding cooperation with local and international scientific organizations, developing grant projects, and commercializing research findings.
The creation of the Center will contribute significantly to strengthening BSU's research capacity, offer scientific solutions to pressing ecological and geological issues, and solidify the university's position within the international scientific community and global research environment.
